MeteoSIX Mobile Contributes the prediction of the time for three days in Galicia, customised for 29.500 places and 800 beaches

The version for iPhone went out in July and in September published the third update for the smartphones with Android, that among others advances adds support for the last version of this platform.

This year the coverage of the application will extend to all the atlantic seaboard and rest of the Peninsula, with new services, like data of the meteorological stations and relative information to the tides or to the hours of exit and put of the sun

 Santiago de Compostela, 03 October 2012 . - Obtain in the mobile the meteorological prediction for any point of Galicia or of his coast is today something very simple thanks to the application MeteoSIX Mobile, available for the intelligent telephones and tabletas that have the systems Android and iOS (iPhone and iPad). Miles of people already have installed in his intelligent telephones the application, downloaded some 20.400 times, and that allows to look for go in more than 29.500 places and 800 beaches or select any place in the map, in earth or in the sea, and obtain the prediction for this point.

Once selected the place, or when the own mobile detect where finds , can consult the prediction hour to hour for three days and the following variables: state of the sky, temperature, precipitations, wind, height of snow, relative humidity, coverage nubosa, pressure, height, period and direction of wave and temperature and salinity of the water. MeteoSIX Mobile Allows to save easily the favourite places, to be able to like this access to the meteorological or oceanographic prediction for these points directly and without need to look for them again.

It is foreseen that in this year 2012 the coverage of the application extend to all the atlantic seaboard and rest of the Iberian Peninsula, with new advances and services, as can know relative information to the tides or to the hours of exit and put of the sun in a determinate point. Also it will be able to consult the state of the meteorology for any point of Galicia in real time, from the pertinent data of the meteorological stations.

 OPEN INFORMATION

 Users advanced like groups of university investigation and developers interested in creating new applications from the data that publishes MeteoGalicia explain besides with a web service that contributes the data of predictions in diverse formats of easy processing or directly insertables in webs.

The project MeteoSIX initiated in December of the 2009 and is coordinated by MeteoGalicia, dependent organism of the Ministry of Environment, Territory and Infrastructures, and in him also participate the Group of Architecture of Computers of the Universidade gives Coruña (UDC), the Laboratory of Systems of the Universidade of Santiago de Compostela (USC) and the Centre of Supercomputación of Galicia (CESGA).

It is funded by the Plan Galego of R&D INCITE of the Xunta de Galicia in collaboration with the project Interreg RAIAco, Oceanic Observatory gives Marxe Iberian, and looks for to endow to MeteoGalicia of an Infrastructure of Space Data (IDE) for the access to meteorological and oceanographic data and create channels of access to the ideal information for the greater possible number of users.
