Today is the 10th Anniversary of the Galipedia and they will celebrate it this Saturday 9 in Fonseca School's Hall, in Santiago de Compostela.

The Galipedia is Wikipedia's edition in Galician language and was created the 8 of March of 2003. It reached 10 000 articles in November of 2005. The 23 of June 2007 the Galipedia exceeded the 25 000 articles, remaining in a position regarding number of articles relatively stable, in the 39th place. On 4 March 2013, within days of the end of 10 years of its inception, has now reached 100,000 articles.

CESGA will participate in this event by presenting European Project WikiSkills, where wiki is promoted as a tool for learning, work and digital culture.

Wikipedia is a collaboratively edited, multilingual, free Internet encyclopedia supported by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation. Its 25 million articles are written collaboratively by volunteers around the world. Almost all of its articles can be edited by anyone with access to the site and it has about 100,000 active contributors. The Galipedia, the Wikipedia in Galician, is part of the projects developed by the Wikimedia Foundation.
