CARTOGALICIA And CESGA will FACILITATE To THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY IN GALICIA THE DATA PRODUCED BY THE NETWORK GALNET OF POSITIONING GNSS

• Cartogalicia Developed the first service of Galicia of positioning of high able precision to work with the constellations of satellites GPS, GLONASS and the future GALILEO
• CESGA Will contribute his infrastructure for redundar and securizar the service of data.

The signature Cartogalicia designed GALNET in the last years like a complementary network of the Global System of Navigation by Satellite (GNSS) that covers all the Galician territory, giving answer to an increasing demand in services of positioning by satellite, such as it explains in his web. Now, fruit of an agreement between CESGA and Cartogalicia, the members of the Galician scientific community will be able to access gratuitamente to the available observations thanks to this network.

The information obtained help to achieve a greater precision, explain from Cartogalicia, from the measurements of the constellations of devices that keep in orbit the consortiums GPS or GLONASS, that in his group constitute the GNSS. GALNET Converts like this in the first service in Galicia of positioning of high precision with receptors with capacities to process the data of the constellations GPS, GLONASS and the future GALILEO.

The global systems of navigation by satellite were designed to contribute by himself same precisions of the order from among two and three metres. With the existent technology today is not possible to achieve some more precise measurements from a global punto, but yes in the local field: GALNET calculates the local errors allowing correct the pertinent signal of the satellites and improve the precision until the errors are at most of centimetres.

The network has of receptors GNSS that constitute basic stations delivered by all the Galician territory, with a distance between them from among 60 and 70 kilometres, and that monitor the signals of the satellites of the systems GPS and GLONASS. These receptors find in positions known, so that when it compares the position calculated in base to the information of the satellites with the position known previously, clear the errors that the system of navigation is committing in each instant.

The gross data for differential correction produced by the network -in files for postprocesado- will spread without cost associated to members of the scientific community in Galicia and will be able to be incorporated for the execution of projects of investigation, development and innovation (R&D). The frame of reference used is geodesic in ETRS89, that like official reference substitutes or complements the traditional geodesic networks.

These data conform like a basic component for the geographic infrastructure of Galicia, that is one of the lines of performance of the Institute of Studies of the Territory (Ministry of Environment, Territory and Infrastructures). This organism has between his ends to coordination and diffusion of the geographic and cartographic information, as well as, incentivar the innovation, adoption and development of technologies and own infrastructures in the fields of geographic information of the Galician territory.

For the diffusion of the data uses exclusively Internet, and will be able to access to them from a desktop computer or when it treat of measurements of field by means of mobile telephones or with devices that operate with links of radio.

The signature of the agreement of collaboration favours to the scientific community of Galicia, since to date it did not have of a network of this type in Galicia.
